Lizards scurry
from store to store
tongues lashing
and detecting
tails hiding
under khaki pants
and short skirts.
 
Old lizards with young wives
babies squawk and scream
pacified by ice cream
There’s a tangible stress
that’s comes from needing
the right dress,
or shoes or phone .
 
It’s the hunter it’s the chase
It’s the gatherer it’s the find
It’s the dream in our mind
made up in some office.
